First Christmas ornament stitched for 2011

Here’s one of my latest finishes. It’s a cute little two-sided ornament from Susan Roberts Needlepoint Designs. This particular ornament is part of a series of animal ornaments by Barbara Eyre. If you like this sweet raccoon, check out her other designs. They are all very cute, and it was difficult for me to decide which one to stitch. I think this little guy’s eyes are what got me.

The raccoon himself is stitched in Splendor Silk, the coat is stitched with Velvet (Diagonal Mosaic stitch), the tree is stitched in Fuzzy Stuff (Brick stitch), and the scarf is stitched in Wisper (Knit or Kalem stitch). It’s hard to see the details in this photo, but next time I will be sure to get additional “zoom” shots that show the texture a bit better.
